McArthur followed this up with a historical book called Pro Bono - The 18-Year Defense of Caril Ann Fugate; which was about his grandfather's involvement in a case where a 14-year-old girl was taken by her ex-boyfriend on a murder spree. His grandfather felt so strongly about her innocence that he continued to defend her until she was released from prison. He then wrote a series of short stories, pick your path books, and a novel for the science fiction series Relic Worlds; about an anthropologist searching for ancient alien civilizations. McArthur also released The Great Heist, about the largest bank robbery in history, a year after Pro Bono. This book is being followed up with a companion book about Al Capone's long lost brother called Two Gun Hart.
The American Game was released on the 4th of July on the 150th anniversary of the last year of the Civil War, as well as the events depicted in the book. It took McArthur 20 years to bring this story to print.
